Community Group Rentals
Hamilton City Council is to vote on changes to rents for community groups.
While this issue is to go before council before the election, I think it is appropriate that council has a rational, consistent and considered plan. If there is unfairness in individual cases, that should be able to be fixed by a separate scheme for grants. I am concerned however, that the underlying basis of setting the rates, at 12.5% of market rate is still not rational, as some properties may simply be too valuable for the use they are currently put.
